Soon to be graduates Milton Alvira and Aneus Sangster met in Colonel Stauffacher’s class in 2014. These two gentlemen have been good buds ever since, sharing jokes and making other people laugh.

Milton is a commuting student, so going back to his home during his free time is not an option. His free time during his years at Florida Tech has led him to discover his happy haunts, which include a few local favorites.

  • La Estancia de Lucia, known for their homemade Colombian food is a great place to go for a quick bite to eat and to learn about a different culture.
  • The beach, rain or shine, you never know who you might run into while you grab a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
  • The mall has some pretty good quick food options according to Milton.
  • Lastly, the Clemente Center is a hidden gem for Florida Tech students with its amazing smoothie bar and exceptionally clean equipment.

Aneus is a student-athlete and has lived on campus throughout his time at Florida Tech. Being a student-athlete is not an easy task and rarely lends itself to free time, but Aneus says that when he does have it he only has one real happy haunt, the Rathskeller. It is a great place to socialize and as he calls it, it is a one stop shop for everything. It now has an Xbox One, multiple television screens, fun events like karaoke, and food. Its a great spot on campus if you don’t know anyone because it would be sure fire way meet new people. Located just below Evan’s Hall in the Quad, and after 5 pm, its got some awesome milkshakes too.

Being a new kid on campus isn’t easy, but going out and exploring is, check out some of Milton’s and Aneus’ happy haunts, create your own, but most of all, remember you are part of the Panther community, being #FITBound, you are never alone!
