X-Culture: A Very Unique Class Project

Guest Blogger: Adulrahman Aljama, Nathan M. Bisk College of Business student

My name is Abdulrahman, and I am involved in a very unique class project for the International Business course I picked up this semester at Florida Tech. It is unique in a manner that I am the only participant from my class in my project, the rest of my teammates are from different places, from being as close as Barbados to as far as Kazakhstan. This project is called the X-Culture Project. The motive of this project is to work together with my teammates whom I can meet up only virtually!

That’s right , we met up virtually today for the first time, on Skype. Due to time differences and different schedules, only three of us could meet up and arranged a Skype meeting to formally lay down the foundations for starting the X-culture project. When this project was assigned, I was a bit tense as to how we are going to handle this, as this being my first time ever handling a project in such a manner. But after the team was announced, we all exchanged e-mails, and set up a time to meet up, which was 14th Feb, and three of us were able to ! My team consists of five members, in which I have representations from – Barbados, Germany, Kazakhstan, Nigeria and myself from United States.

During our first meeting we were able to zero down on a company and the challenge presented, and in a way are set to start working on the project, stay tuned to hear further developments on my team project, by the way we are called, Team X-32 !
