Dr. Walton To Chair Innovation Council

The Economic Development Center (EDC) of the Space Coast has recently announced that they will create an Innovation Council to be chaired by Dr. Abram Walton. The council will be tasked with identifying opportunities to enhance innovation on the Space Coast. Brevard county is already a great place for innovation, rating a 99.3 from the Innovation in American Regions initiative. The EDC hopes to increase this above the national index of 100 and beyond.

In an article in the Florida Today, Dr. Walton spoke about his vision and how they go beyond traditional economic development. Dr. Walton said that he wants to focus on small and mid-sized businesses find the support they need to innovate and grow. Dr. Walton is the program chair of the M.S. in Innovation and Entrepreneurship degree and is a world renown scholar on innovation.
