Fireball Run

Florida Tech Competes in the Fireball Run to help find missing child, Journey Everitt!

Fireball Route

For 8 days, in 15 cities, across 2,500 miles, Winston Scott’s Florida Tech team will participate against 50 other teams in the Chevrolet Fireball Run Adventurally: Southern Excursion. The race begins on Sept. 24 in Melbourne and finishes 8 days later in Gulfport, Miss, while competing in a mission-styled game. The missions are scripted from points of interest in host destinations across the 15 cities.

Each team must solve clues to accomplish the missions in order to earn points and score. It will take more brain power than horsepower to successfully navigate the country in this part rally, part game, part race. Motorsports challenges are also incorporated into game play: auto crosses, wet skid challenges, drag strip events, etc. It’s part rally, part game and part race, so we will need to out think, out smart and out drive the other teams to win.

The Fireball Run Adventurally focuses on the Race to Recover America’s Missing Children Foundation – the country’s largest and longest active recovery effort for missing children and has aided in the recovery of 35 missing children. Each Fireball Run team represents a missing child from their home region. The Florida Tech team is looking to find, 8-year-old missing child, Journey Everitt. The mission: distribute thousands of posters over the 2,500-mile adventure to aid in the recovery of Journey.
