High-Paying Jobs in the Most Unexpected Places

When we think of manufacturing and assembly lines we think of untidy conditions and a field dominated by men. This is not the modern day factory. With the addition of health codes and strict unions, manufacturing is now a career choice for any skilled individual, male or female.

This week’s FLORIDA TODAY EDGE column comes from CareerSource Brevard President Lisa Rice. In this column, Lisa discusses changes in the manufacturing industry and the opportunities for women today.

Preconceived notions of the manufacturing environment keep many women away from manufacturing jobs. We need to educate the younger generation on the benefits of working in the manufacturing industry, including the clean environment and appealing compensation.
