Top Five Favorite Panther Pies

  1. Key lime
  2.  Peanut Butter
  3. Chocolate Cream
  4. Oreo Cream
  5. Kit Kat Cream.

It’s no surprise Key lime Pie is a Florida Tech favorite.  It’s the official state pie of Florida. With ingredients that include Key lime juice, egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk all blended in a pie crust. The dish is named after the small, tart Key limes found throughout the Florida Keys, not the Persian limes carried by most grocery stores across the country.

The filling is yellow because of the egg yolk used and the fact that Key lime juice is not green like a typical lime – but pale yellow. It’s authentically made using sweetened condensed milk because there wasn’t ready supply fresh milk (or refrigeration) back in the key’s early days when the dish was first invented.

But whether you’re a fan of Key lime or crazy for Kit Kat Cream – enjoying your favorite slice at Florida Tech is easy as pie.
