So You’ve Been Accepted to Florida Tech—Now What?

0

You just got your congratulatory email and letter in the mail. Your family beams with pride. You’re so ready for the excitement of college. But what happens next?

First of all, throw yourself a dance party and shout your acceptance from the mountain top (or in this day and age, on all of your social media platforms). Getting accepted to Florida Tech is an amazing accomplishment and you should celebrate this happy occasion!

After the celebrating has died down a little, it’s time to get to work. Not work work, but fun work—we promise.

Activate TRACKS account and Complete Panther Pass
This part might sound a little boring, but it’s super important! Once you’ve been accepted to Florida Tech, you’ll be receiving emails about TRACKS and Panther Pass. You’re not an official Panther until you complete these tasks, so make sure you read these notifications and follow the instructions.

Where’s Pete? Photo Contest
Our mascot,  Pete the Panther, is a pretty cool guy. In the summer, he goes on all sorts of adventures with Florida Tech students, faculty, staff and alumni. Snap a photo with him on your next trip and we’ll share it on our Facebook and Pinterest pages. The best picture wins a fantastic mystery prize!  Let’s get started.

Make a List of Clubs You Want to Join
Let’s face it—college isn’t all about academics. Your social life is important, too. At Florida Tech, we have over 150 clubs and organizations for you to join. That’s right: 150. And they’re all unique. Look at these examples:

Florida Tech is pretty fortunate when it comes to weather and amazing locales. There’s always something fun to do around here! Go shopping in Downtown Melbourne, take a theme park trip to Orlando, experience a professional sports game in Tampa or discover the great nightlife in Miami.

So there you have it! We know waiting for college can be difficult, but hopefully these things will tie you over until the big day. Happy summer!

About Author

I am a lover of all things social media and blogging. In addition to those areas, I have a hand in advertising, email marketing, video editing, giveaway management and copywriting at Florida Tech. My favorite thing about the university is the fantastic student body. A self-professed theatre nerd, I spend much of my free time on stage in local community theatre productions, as well as rocking out to my childhood heroes, the Backstreet Boys.
